Circo Metropolis
Laughter League partners with Bishop Arts Theatre Center and Dallas City of Learning to premiere Circo Metropolis, a free interactive Circus experience. I would like to invite you and your family to Circo Metropolis a new unique one of a kind event.
DALLAS (August 9, 2020) – On Sunday, August 16, 10:00 a.m., Laughter League, in partnership with Bishop Arts Theatre Center and the Dallas City of Learning, will bring Circo Metropolis, a free interactive, educational circus experience that will zoom right into the homes of Dallas/Fort Worth families.
Teaching the timeless art of Circus, Circo Metropolis will inspire kids and their parents to challenge themselves with juggling, balancing, manipulating objects, and learning the basics of physical comedy. The masters of ceremonies will be the dynamic clown duo Slappy and Monday, who will be assisted by the Circus skill phenoms, the Ramazinis.
From Noon to 1:00 p.m., there will be a Curbside Car Parade at Bishop Arts Theatre Center, located at 215 South Tyler Street in Dallas. Laughter League will be waving and having fun with families in attendance. In addition, there will be free kids’ ‘take home’ lunches to the first 50 kids who sign up. The fun is not over, though! At 1:30 p.m., the Circus experience resumes online where families can sit back and watch the wonderment of a virtual Circus performed live by Slappy and Monday and the Ramazinis.
Creating live theater without the ability to have an audience physically present has become challenge of entertainers everywhere. The Circus has endured for hundreds of years because it features humans doing incredible acts of strength and grace along with clowns who glorify our foibles and failures. The Circus has survived because it is entertainment for the masses. Now more than ever, the Circus is needed to uplift lives…including virtually.
