Justin Warner The Laws of Cooking
As we prepare for our children to return to school I thought I would share Justin Warner The Laws of Cooking: And How to Break Them we found in a Junk Store called Weavers which is in Fort Worth, Texas. If there is something new or unusual your looking for then you need to check out Weber’s. Weber’s carries everything under the sun. Not only that if they don’t have what your looking for today then check them out tomorrow as they get new stock in everyday of the week.
Charlie and I love the Food Network channel and Guy’s Grocery Games where we’ve been introduced to a lot of new cooks. Including Justin Warner who uses Science in the recipes he cooks. Charlie loves watching Justin cook and let me know he would like to learn more about Justin’s style of cooking.
The Lord was listening as we went to Weber’s on Sunday with my mother in law Sherry. As we walked through the store I found Justin Warner The Laws of Cooking: And How to Break Them. Charlie was going to purchase Justin Warner The Laws of Cooking: And How to Break Them for me but Charlie changed his mind.
Last night David asked me to go to Weber’s with him to look at outside tables I had seen. While walking through the store the tables were gone. I found Justin Warner The Laws of Cooking: And How to Break Them and I decided to purchase Justin Warner The Laws of Cooking: And How to Break Them for Charlie to use in Homeschooling.
I was surprised when we got to the register as I had expected to pay $5 for Justin Warner The Laws of Cooking: And How to Break Them but the cookbook was on for half price. A true bargain. As well as a GOD send for a Homeschooling family on a budget. As your looking for supplies for your classroom always keep your eyes open and think outside the box as you can find supplies in places you wouldn’t ever think about.

The Laws of Cooking . . . and How to Break Them encourages improvisation and play, while explaining Justin Warner’s unique ideas about “flavor theory”-like color theory, but for your tongue. By introducing eleven laws based on familiar foods (e.g., “The Law of Peanut Butter and Jelly”; “The Law of Coffee, Cream, and Sugar”), the book will teach you why certain flavors combine brilliantly, and then show how these combinations work in 110 more complex and inventive recipes (Tomato Soup with “Grilled Cheese” Ravioli; Scallops with Black Sesame and Cherry). At the end of every recipe, Justin “breaks the law” by adding a seemingly discordant flavor that takes the combination to a new level.
