New Siblings
This week my niece was admitted into the hospital to have her twins early because they thought Alex Appendicitis. Granny Sherry ended up having Alex other daughters Daisy and Payton. Charlie went down to grannies to help her with the girls. While in the hospital we had to prepare Payton that hew new siblings might be arriving early as Alex was having twins. One boy Joseph and one girl Arrabella.
They swam in the pool while Charlie and Granny watched them. Then they got out and went inside to get dressed and there dad picked them up. After they left Charlie and I went to Dollar Tree and picked up coloring books and crayons and was going to take them Donuts this morning as they was supposed to come back.
But there dad’s mom took them so Granny Sherry could rest and they will be back on Monday. Which is good as it gives Charlie and I time to find more toys for us to play with. As well as get items for a Picnic as the park is right around the corner from Granny Sherry.
While we were there watching the girls Charlie kept saying how pretty Dixie is and she does have beautiful eyes and pretty curly hair. Dixie reminds me of Shirley Temple. No, one was paying attend to Payton and I knew this was upsetting her.
On the way home I was able to remind Charlie how it felt to be bullied and how that made him feel. As we talked I was able to remind Charlie this was how Payton might be feeling when everyone is fawning over Dixie and ignoring her. Charlie said he didn’t mean to do that and I let Charlie know I knew he didn’t because I was bad about doing the same thing.
Then I let Charlie know the next time he wanted to compliment Dixie to say something nice about Payton as well because she is beautiful and so kind. Not only that she worships the ground Charlie walks on and would do anything in the world for him.
I reminded Charlie when the new babies come home that Payton might end up being pushed aside and we would need to spend extra time with her. Then Charlie and I discussed how a big sister or brother becomes invisible even though parents don’t mean to,
Charlie surprised me when he said we should find a book about being a Big Sister to give Payton. I plan on going to the Book Store this morning to see if I can find the children’s book I’m a Big Sister. As well as a Disney Frozen Elsa I’m The Big Sister Little Girl’s T-Shirt. Is there anything else you think I can do to make Payton feel special?
