I can hear you asking what do I do now? I would say to either find a local Networking Group or to put together your own Networking Group. So you may decide it is easier to find local groups to join which is fine.
Only you might not know how to find local Networking groups in your City so what I would suggest is the following: google networking meetings or you can call the Chamber of Commerce which might be able to tell you who host local network meetings in your area. Or you can check out MeetUp.com as it will showcase meetings in your area. Or call local restaurants as a lot of time they will host local Networking Groups.
At one time Hoffbrau Steakhouse in Haltom City used to host networking meetings and I am not sure if they still do but it wouldn’t hurt to call them and ask. As I can tell you the manager at Hoffbrau Steakhouse in Haltom City is wonderful and they love supporting local small based businesses. There is 5 Hoffbrau Steakhouse in Dallas/ Fort Worth so if the one in Haltom City isn’t hosting them check with one of the other ones.
Or you can put together your own Networking group and contact them to host your meetings there. As this is where I hosted my network meetings in the past. Now to use there room you will need to purchase drinks and some food. As you will need to tip your waiter.
So what I did at my meetings was keep them free and ask everyone to purchase dinner. But you could charge a fee and then order appetizer and everyone at the meeting split them. As it is your meeting so it is your choice on what you do at the meeting.
