What’s not to love about the new movie “Aladdin “
Good morning,
Last weekend my friend Debbie Finney Sutton and I went to Alamo DraftHouse in Fort Worth to watch Aladdin. This is a guest post from Debbie.
What’s not to love about the new movie “Aladdin? “
Aladdin was amazing! I’ve been a Robin Williams fan my whole life and I never thought in 10 thousand years ( see what I did there!) that anyone could ever play the role of Genie but Robin Williams. I have to admit that I had debating to see the movie with Will Smith or not. Because, I couldn’t see anyone else in the role. But, I did give the new Aladdin movie a chance and was so thankful I did.
The film was beautifully done! Will Smith channeled the spirit of Robin, yet still made the role his own. Genie was honestly my favorite part of the movie. The scenery and costumes were breathtaking and Aladdin was a home run for “ Disney “. If you have seen this film what did you think of the movie and why? What did you think of Will Smith’s part and why? Did you prefer him or Robin Williams?
I would like to also let you know I saw the movie at the new Alamo Drafthouse in N. Richland Hills with my best friend and fellow blogger Glenda Cates. Alamo DraftHouse made Aladdin a fun experience. by hosting a ALADDIN-THEMED STREET BAZAAR! Which included a live camel, photo oops with a flying carpet backdrop, a live chimp like Abu and belly dancers balancing swords on their heads.
It was a fun day! Did you bring your family to this event? If so what did you think of the ALADDIN-THEMED STREET BAZAAR! and why?
I would like to ask you to leave us a comment. Can you let Debbie know what you thought of her first post and why.
I would like to ask you to take the time to check out my post on our day at:
2D ALADDIN
A WHOLE NEW WHOLE NEW WORLD.
From shimmering Arabian days to sweeping Arabian nights, ALADDIN finally gets its own high-tech, live-action update from director Guy Ritchie (SHERLOCK HOLMES).
The much-loved rags-to-riches tale is given fresh life with a talented new cast, including Mena Massoud as the titular street-urchin-turned-prince, Naomi Scott as the bold and beautiful Princess Jasmine, and Navid Negahban as her protective father the Sultan. And, of course, inside the lamp is none other than Will Smith, the hilarious and enigmatic Genie whose three wishes turn Agrabah on its head.
Along with the exhilarating, magical visuals Disney is known for (flying carpets much?), it also features a stirring soundtrack faithful to the classic score, along with some new material from the songwriters who created the beloved originals. Let this epic tale charm you all over again in this stunning new adaptation.
